Buna-N

Buna-N (Nitrile) is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene. It is one of the most commonly used elastomers due to its resistance to oils, fuels, and other chemicals, as well as its high mechanical strength. Nitrile rubber offers excellent wear resistance and good tensile strength.

Buna-N Not Recommended

• brake fluid
• ozone
• UV exposure
• phosphate esters
• chlorinated hydrocarbons
• aromatic hydrocarbons
• ketones
• strong acids
• atmospheric aging

Buna-N Limitations

• Not suitable for ozone, sunlight, or weathering exposure
• Limited performance in high-temperature environments
• Not ideal for strong acids and alkalis
• Not recommended for applications requiring low compression set

-40°C to 120°C
